Totango pricing

The published price is gone.
Here is what replaced it.

Totango used to be the one platform in this category with a packages page. Since the Catalyst merger it is quote-only, and the observed contracts are the highest of the platforms we track. Below is every publicly reported figure with its source, what a real deployment costs in year one, and what moves the quote.

Quick answer

Totango no longer publishes pricing. Vendr's observed median across 102 purchases is $66,150 a year, with contracts from $10,920 to $128,000. It is priced on the customer accounts and revenue you manage plus the modules enabled, not per seat. Starter is reported at $12,000 to $18,000, Growth at $30,000 to $70,000, Enterprise from $75,000. Implementation adds $10,000 to $50,000.

Nothing here is our estimate. Each row is a publicly reported figure attributed to the source that published it, read on the date shown. The withdrawn $249 plan is kept in the table, labelled, so the change is visible rather than silent.

Formerly published entry plan (withdrawn)From $249 / monthAccoilchecked 2026-08-18What Totango's packages page listed when these figures were first compiled in August 2026. The page has since been removed and current sources describe Totango as quote-only, so do not budget from this row.

These vendors have not confirmed any of these figures and most publish no rates at all. Treat them as the reported market range for planning and negotiation, not as a quote. Your own number will depend on seat count, module scope, contract length, and how hard your procurement team pushes.

What changed

From a packages page to a quote

If you came here looking for the $249 plan, this is the section for you.

Until mid-2026 Totango published packages, and its entry plan was listed from $249 a month. That made it the most price-transparent of the established platforms, and it is why this site described it that way on five pages until this one was written.

The packages page now returns a 404. Both Vendr and GainTrace, read in September 2026, describe Totango as quote-based with no list price, and the packages they report post-merger are sized for large books: Enterprise at 2,000 accounts and Premier at 10,000, with Catalyst and Unison sold as modules on top.

The number that matters is the one that replaced the $249. Vendr's observed median across 102 purchases is $66,150a year, which is higher than Gainsight's $49,879, ChurnZero's $44,681 and Planhat's $41,255. That is not because Totango is more expensive like-for-like. It is because the buyers it now sells to run bigger books, and the price follows the book.

The practical consequence is that the old entry price is not just stale but the wrong shape. Budget from your account count and the modules you will actually turn on, and expect the implementation line to be a large share of year one at the small end.

Year one, not the sticker

What a mid-market team actually pays

An eight-person CS team on roughly 400 accounts, the same team used on every pricing page here so the vendors can be compared. Built from the reported bands, not the withdrawn listing.

$37,250

The shape of this table is the point. At 400 accounts you are below the smallest reported package, so the licence is modest and the implementation is the bill. Vendr reports mid-market buyers landing at $35,000 to $60,000 after negotiation, which this sits at the bottom of, for a book that is small by Totango's standards. Year two drops the implementation line and adds the reported 5% to 10% escalation unless it is capped.

Negotiation

What actually moves the quote

Vendr reports average savings near 30% on Totango deals, the largest discount pattern of any platform here. These are the levers buyers report using.

The first quote is a position

Annual contracts are reported at 15% to 30% below list and multi-year agreements at 20% to 35% off. A 30% average saving means the opening number is built to be negotiated down; treat it accordingly.

Implementation is the negotiable line

At the small end, implementation is more than half of year one. Ask what is in the $20,000 and whether a lighter scope is possible for a book that is small by Totango's standards.

Modules and premium tiers add up quietly

Premium support at 10% to 20% of contract value, premium integrations at $5,000 to $15,000 a year, and Catalyst or Unison as modules. Each is reasonable alone; together they can double the licence.

Cap the escalation in writing

Vendr reports 5% to 10% increases at renewal, the steepest reported in this category. Over a three-year term that compounds to a materially different contract. Get the cap into the order form.

When Totango is the right call

Totango prices on the book, not the team, so a large CS organisation running thousands of accounts on an established platform pays for the book once and adds Catalyst or Unison as it needs them. At that scale the implementation line is a small share of the total and the modular scope is a genuine advantage. Exeechain is the better fit when the retention work needs to start this week, the book is hundreds of accounts rather than thousands, and nobody is going to run a twelve-week rollout.

Provenance

Where these numbers come from

Named so you can check them. A pricing page that cannot show its working is worth exactly as much as the vendor's own quote.

Vendr

SaaS procurement marketplace publishing observed contract values from real negotiated purchases. The most reliable public signal, because it reflects what buyers paid rather than what vendors asked.

Oliv AI

Practitioner threads on platform costs. Useful for the shape of a quote (platform fee plus per-seat plus per-account) even where absolute figures have aged. (no direct link yet - this one has not been re-checked since the figures were compiled.)

ZoomInfo

Published July 2026. Confirms Gainsight publishes no rates and reports contracts commonly capping annual increases at 6%. (no direct link yet - this one has not been re-checked since the figures were compiled.)

Figures were compiled on 14 September 2026 and are re-verified quarterly. Reported ranges move. If you have a current quote that falls outside these bands we would genuinely like to know, because a pricing page that drifts from reality stops being useful to anyone.

Questions

Totango pricing FAQ

How much does Totango cost per year?▼

Totango does not publish pricing. Vendr's observed median across 102 purchases is $66,150 a year, with contracts running from $10,920 to $128,000. By tier Vendr reports Starter at $12,000 to $18,000 for 500 to 1,000 accounts, Growth at $30,000 to $70,000 for 1,000 to 5,000, and Enterprise from $75,000 to $150,000+. Implementation is a further $10,000 to $50,000 one-off.

Does Totango still have a $249 a month plan?▼

Not that we can find. When these figures were first compiled in August 2026, Totango's packages page listed an entry plan from $249 a month, and it was one of the few platforms in the category to publish anything. That page now returns a 404, and both Vendr and GainTrace describe Totango as quote-only following the Catalyst merger. If you are budgeting from the $249, stop: the cheapest contract Vendr has observed is $10,920 a year.

How is Totango priced?▼

On the customer accounts and revenue you manage in the platform, plus the modules you enable, rather than per seat. The reported packages post-merger are Enterprise (10 practitioner seats, 2,000 accounts) and Premier (20 seats, 10,000 accounts), with the Catalyst Customer Growth Platform and the Unison intelligence engine sold as modules. The practical effect is that a large CS team costs little extra and a large book costs a lot.

What does Totango implementation cost?▼

Vendr reports $10,000 to $50,000+ one-off, and GainTrace's band is $20,000 to $50,000. Time to value is reported at around 12 weeks. Vendr also reports premium support at 10% to 20% of annual contract value, premium integrations at $5,000 to $15,000 a year, and 5% to 10% escalations at renewal unless capped, none of which appear in the headline quote.

Is Totango cheaper than Gainsight?▼

Not at the median. Vendr's observed medians are $66,150 for Totango and $49,879 for Gainsight, so the typical Totango buyer pays more. Totango's reported implementation of around 12 weeks is faster than Gainsight's 4 to 6 months, and Vendr reports mid-market Totango buyers landing at $35,000 to $60,000 after negotiation, which overlaps Gainsight's range. Treat the two as priced alike and choose on rollout speed and Salesforce depth.

Can you negotiate Totango pricing?▼

Yes, and the reported discounts are the largest in the category: Vendr reports average savings near 30% against the first quote, annual contracts at 15% to 30% below list, and multi-year agreements at 20% to 35% off. The levers buyers report are the account-count band, module scope, and capping the 5% to 10% renewal escalation in writing.

How does Exeechain compare on price?▼

Exeechain's own plans are published: $0 on the Free tier (sample book only), then $299/mo, $999/mo and $2,999/mo, all month-to-month with no implementation fee. First scores in 15 minutes. Full accuracy in 24 hours. At $999/mo an Exeechain year costs $11,988, roughly the cheapest Totango contract Vendr has observed, with nothing to implement. If you run a very large book on an established platform and want Catalyst and Unison as modules on it, Totango is built for that scale; if the retention work needs to start this week, Exeechain is the fit.
